Biography

Kayleigh Johnson (born July 01, 1990), a British recording artist, and musician. At a young age, Kay heard her mothers Jazz & Soul CD’s and started picking up an interest in Music. Singing has been a big part of Kayleigh’s life for as long as she can recall. By the age of Nine she was singing Whitney Houston’s ‘Greatest Love of All’ CD. Her primary influences in music was Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, and Maria Carey. For Kayleigh, music is life!

In her early teens, Kayleigh considered being a professional vocalist, and began writing her own songs. At 18, she was accepted into Middlesex University, UK, to study BA Performing Arts, and opted in so that she could focus on perfecting her songwriting and performing skills. She spent the following years studying, and singing with cover bands, and working as a session singer.

“When I was 15, I became virtually obsessed with Jazz & Soul,” she recollects. “I would shut myself away from the World, studying the vocabulary of these genres, analysing several vocalists’ and their ways, writing up their lyrics on paper and picking up their expressive style. That was my chore for numerous months; I studied successful songs. Later on, I met Matthew Hunt, a genius on the Acoustic Guitar and that felt superb, we became a small band. Playing collectively since 2007 as an acoustic act at Open Mic nights acoss the UK. The partnership & musicianship between us has established into something profitable, and we enjoy what we do!”

Currently Kayleigh is doing work with her new manager En Derin to record and release her Debut Album. The release date is still not certain but it can be said that Kayleigh is on the move and has acquired the groove that will utterly put you in the mood, to undergo a BOOM!!!
